This unit produces a red flash (Model XtendIR-I, regular IR infrared flash) or “black flash” (Model XtendIR-B, black flash) to compliment and extend the flash of your IR camera. It triggers in synchronicity with your camera's flash so it works with both photo and movie modes to brighten and sharpen them up as well as provide more distance in the photos. Meantime, XtendIR-B can convert any Infrared trail camera to true black flash trail camera.
The term "Black Flash" has been adopted by the industry to describe an infrared flash unit that does not emit any visible light, thus it is accepted that it does not spook game or animals, nor does it alert human intruders should the camera be in use for a security purpose.
